This week it’s a battle of the crazy! Which band is more unhinged? Into the ring steps Training for Utopia, one of the spazziest bands to come out of the Tooth and Nail and Solid State scene in the early 2000’s. Tantrum of the Muse is the passion project of a total madman who’s musical twists and turns cannot be predicted or measured. Which band is more insane? We will give you our opinions at least. #discussmetal #TrainingForUtopia #TantrumOfTheMuse

Before we all had to keep our distance, Dan, Joe, and Mike sat down to watch Crush The Skull. This crowd-funded film has enough dark humor, and self-aware horror tropes to make you laugh the whole way through, or make you angry because none of it hits home. No matter how painful it was for Mike, he stayed the course, while Dan and Joe found the humor, and can’t wait for more. This one may not be for everyone, but it is definitely hilarious enough to become a friend favorite. #discussmetal #CrushTheSkull

On a recent episode of Discography Discussion we referred to everyone’s favorite lyrics by The Chariot, “the devil is in Atlanta.” Häxan, a film by Benjamin Christensen, explores the mythology surrounding this truly evil create, and gives the world what Dan, Joe, and Mike believe is the absolute best depiction of the deity on film. Häxan has fear, superstition, spiritualism, and religious persecution a plenty. If you have never seen this film before, you are in luck as it is public domain, and easily accessible, and still terrifying for some even today. Check it out! #discussmetal #Häxan

Novembers Doom is a band who has unfairly been compared to Opeth throughout their career. On this episode of Discography Discussion, we sit down with beloved friend of the show Michael Yahne to get his take on this American doom/progressive metal band. Is the Opeth comparison fair? We don’t think so...most of the time. Enjoy. #discussmetal #NovembersDoom

Long time friend of the show Mike Yahne stops in this week to discuss the staggering discography of the mighty Opeth. Is it ok for a metal band to stop being death metal? Does the name of a band dictate their sound? What does all of this have with musical composition and sequencing? Find out on this week’s very evil episode of Discography Discussion. #discussmetal #Opeth #Lutefisk #OldschoolPodcastLineup
