Sunday Oct 25, 2020
Sunday Oct 25, 2020
If you think Powerman 5000 only had a couple of good songs you may be mistaken. It's not too often to see a band experience as much musical diversity as Powerman 5000. Is every avenue they take good? That is for you to ultimately decide but Dan and Joe will do their best to influence your decision. #discussmetal #Powerman5000

Episode 191: Rosetta - Discography Discussion
Sunday Oct 18, 2020
Sunday Oct 18, 2020
It’s time for everybody to shoegaze into outer space! Bryan Patton of As The Story Grows joins Dan and Joe for an in-depth conversation about Rosetta. This band starts off big, and continues to be big. Despite having label backing at the start of their career, and transitioning into an independent band, they continue to create soundscapes that challenge the listener to do their job, and listen to the music. Also, Dan gives everybody an update on #Zaogate and the “locked groove” on his new Zao vinyl re-release of “Where Blood And Fire Bring Rest.” Not an episode to miss. Check it out! #discussmetal #Rosetta

What does it take for a modern metalcore band to stand out from the pack? Can Wage War bring something new to the table? Or do they just bring it better than everyone else? We attempt to answer these questions on this episode of Discography Discussion. Check it out! #discussmetal #WageWar

Movie Mosh Episode 003: Crush The Skull 2015
Friday Oct 09, 2020
Friday Oct 09, 2020
Before we all had to keep our distance, Dan, Joe, and Mike sat down to watch Crush The Skull. This crowd-funded film has enough dark humor, and self-aware horror tropes to make you laugh the whole way through, or make you angry because none of it hits home. No matter how painful it was for Mike, he stayed the course, while Dan and Joe found the humor, and can’t wait for more. This one may not be for everyone, but it is definitely hilarious enough to become a friend favorite. #discussmetal #CrushTheSkull

Sunday Oct 04, 2020
Sunday Oct 04, 2020
This week, Geoff finally gets his way as we dive head first into the world of Katatonia. Was the band ever death/doom metal to begin with? How hard is it to keep a fanbase while changing styles at the drop of a hat? We will explore all of that and more on this episode of Discography Discussion. Check it out! #discussmetal

Sunday Sep 27, 2020
Sunday Sep 27, 2020
Despite being a "newer" band by Discography Discussion standards, Code Orange has a very diverse musical arc. In the span of four albums these Code Orange Kids have made their mark on noisy punk, hardcore, metalcore, and dare we say nu metal? We will let you judge that last part as you make this journey with us. We promise the journey will at least entertain you. #discussmetal #CodeOrange

Hatebreed is one of the few bands in the heavy music scene who is equally accepted as a hardcore and metal band without anyone throwing out the dirty word metalcore. Can a band having a bare bones approach make them just another hardcore band? Or is there just something special about Hatebreed? Sunday Sep 06, 2020
Jon Beatty of the Brewtally Speaking Podcast joins us this week to talk about one of his favorite bands The Acacia Strain. Is there a darker themed band than The Acacia Strain? We will attempt to find out, but the answer is no. Can the band stay consistent through 18 years and 10 albums? We discuss all of that and more. Warning not a safe discussion for work. #discussmetal #TheAcaciaStrain
