Episode 154: In This Moment - Discography Discussion
Sunday Feb 02, 2020
Sunday Feb 02, 2020
There are many bands out there who will do their best to push their genre in directions nobody could have imagined. The unfortunate thing is that most bands do not achieve this. In This Moment is a band known for blending genres and pushing new ideas of what we think of as “acceptable” for metal. On this episode of Discography Discussion Dan, Joe, and Goeff analyze if In This Moment have achieved changing our expectations, or if they are sheep in wolves clothing. #discussmetal #InThisMoment

Movie Mosh Episode 002: Häxan 1922
Wednesday Jan 22, 2020
Wednesday Jan 22, 2020
On a recent episode of Discography Discussion we referred to everyone’s favorite lyrics by The Chariot, “the devil is in Atlanta.” Häxan, a film by Benjamin Christensen, explores the mythology surrounding this truly evil create, and gives the world what Dan, Joe, and Mike believe is the absolute best depiction of the deity on film. Häxan has fear, superstition, spiritualism, and religious persecution a plenty. If you have never seen this film before, you are in luck as it is public domain, and easily accessible, and still terrifying for some even today. Check it out! #discussmetal #Häxan

Episode 151: Showbread - Discography Discussion
Sunday Jan 12, 2020
Sunday Jan 12, 2020
Showbread was a band that you either “got” or you didn’t. No matter which side of the fence you are on, you have to admit that they were unique in a sea of hardcore, emo, and punk rock bands in the early 2000s. On this episode of Discography Discussion Dan, Joe, and Buddy dig into the weird rock opera, industrial, and alternative rock dubbed “Raw Rock” stylings of Showbread and figure out if this band was creatively rich or creatively dry. #discussmetal #Showbread

Movie Mosh Episode 001: The Lord Of The Rings 1978
Friday Jan 03, 2020
Friday Jan 03, 2020
Welcome to Movie Mosh! Dan, Joe, and Mike sit down to watch one of the most metal animated films of all time, Ralph Bakshi’s The Lord Of The Rings. At a time when clever animation was casually defined as “whatever Disney was releasing this week,” Ralph Bakshi had his own style, and managed to put his own message into his films. The Lord Of The Rings may have been mistakenly released alongside Rankin/Bass The Hobbit, and The Return Of The King, but do not be mistaken. This film is not the same animal. We hope you enjoy this episode of Movie Mosh. #discussmetal
